Social Media Marketing: No Such Thing as an Overnight Success
Remember there’s no such thing as a Get-Rich-Quick Scheme or an Overnight Success, otherwise you would not be reading this.
Those people who appear to be ‘overnight successes’ have spent a lot of hours, dedication and focus on becoming a success. It is only because of the snowball effect that they appear to get their big break.
A great example of this is a band. The band form, they practice honing their skills. Once they have mastered a few songs to a reasonable level they begin to play local venues, inviting friends to watch.
They begin to play small venues further afield, building an underground following as they progress on the road to overnight success.
Eventually, a Band Manager hears them and starts promoting the band; they cut an album, release a song, and create a video to go with the song. The marketing material is distributed.
Word spreads about the band and people actively look up the band on the web. This causes a large popular following: Equalling ‘Overnight Success’ and more importantly Money.
This is the analogy you must remember when you are starting out your social media marketing campaign.
You must focus you attention on your writing style and what you want to convey, practice honing your skills. As soon as you have written an article or blog, proof read it and distribute it.
Invite social networking friends to look at your profile, join groups and forums and start raising your profile on the social networking sites.
Eventually, people will be so intrigued with what you have to say they will become leads and join your business/buy your products. As this marketing snowball gathers you will become an ‘Overnight Success’.
